Avocados ripen best at room temperature. Place firm, unripe avocados inside a clean cotton mesh bag and leave the bag on your countertop, away from direct sunlight or heat. The mesh bag keeps the avocados together while still allowing them to breathe as they soften. Check the avocados daily by gently pressing near the stem end. When they yield slightly to pressure, they are ready to eat!
